Can we agree to disagree?

I had a conversation with a friend of mine, now he is a Major in the US Army, Intelligence branch. He is for Obama, but he is against changes. We both came to the conclusion that no matter what happens Americans are divided and we will not agree on anything. There are the left and the right, both proclaim their justifications to having the right answers. Yes here, no here, I want this, your wrong. It is a circle that is never ending. The thing we agreed on most is that the more Obama pushes his reforms, the more he pisses off the opposition, the more likely regular people are going to get fed up and take a stand. By a stand, we both knew and understood was not just a radical stand, but one that will forge the country to come. Obama has these ideas and he says he will not quit until they are in place, the opposition wants nothing to do with most of these ideas...he is pushing people so hard and his side just wants them to shut up. The stand we both agreed may happen was one where lives will be lost in bloodshed, that we will become that which we have fought against, that domestic insurgency and all out civil war is well within the horizon if Obama does not ease up and quit pushing his ideas so heavily on those that do not want them. We want change yes, but the things he wants to implement are not the change people want or need. He is right on 1 point, we are on the brink...but it is the brink of uprising, of an all out civil war. It may be cold now, but pretty soon things may heat up.

...right in your mouth. I haven't posted here in awhile because there is no agreement...I have been on a forum where people agree to disagree and know that we both have fair points that hold merit. Here though...nothing that is not loyalist Obama material is deemed unamerican and wrong.

That if someone says something contrast to Obama's call...they are picked out as unamerican, unsupportive, hindering change...etc. even when in fact they are patriotic by enacting the right of free speech and right to make their OWN choice.

Wow...really? That is it? You guys realize that since Obama has been put in office that Bush has been the blame for everything? If Obama stubs his toe it is because Bush must have left his toys in the oval office. If Michelle loses an earring, its because Bush must have stolen it. You know in Orwell's Animal Farm Napoleon goes a long way to make Snowball out to be the bad guy, that everything bad is because of Snowball. He goes so far that saying Snowball is like committing murder. You liberals have done the same with Bush, making him out to be all that encompasses evil, that Obama can do no wrong, and that everything that is bad in the world is because of Bush. I bet in your eyes Bush killed Micheal Jackson, planned JFK's assassination, sabotaged Chernobyl, forced Japan to bomb Pearl Harbor, and even strung Jesus up on the crucifix. Seriously, how bout you guys let the past be the past and realize that your messiah is capable of mistakes...like his impressive deficit additions since taking office that make Bush's deficit additions look like your meager .25 allowance at 6 years old.
