Re OP: to be fair. some reporting suggests that the US may still come out ahead.

However, even if it comes to that (which is open) it doesn't change the fact that the war was/is for the most part an absurd adventure by the WH which dosn't know much about the ME or Iran, and probably felt all-powerful after Venezuela, which is just hubris.

If something good comes out of this maybe this WH is cured for now from doing the same again anytime soon, but then we're talking Donnie, so who knows...

That article contains several outright lies 😅

      https://youtu.be/xPfO5fsxnKg?is=jCzNh_3sHBu5Q3T2 posted today

Titled: 'The Iran war is the biggest blunder in US history'

As I said immediately after it began

Almost (but not quite) as bad a blunder as Russia attacking Ukraine, and then leaning into it.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I'm sure wise Moby already knew in 500 BC that Putin was going to be disastrous for the Russian people. Took him only three days to find out.

I guess "but the other's are worse" (true or not) is a good way to cope, esp. when "Putin's innocent" and "Putin's winning" are obviously failing.

Russia is essentially fighting NATO, and still winning...🤷

I see when the US was talking about fighting to the last Ukrainian, they even meant the women that Ukraine is now resorting to... 😢

First, I might disagree with you on who's winning.
But if NATO would really get involved, with troops more support, more aircraft, trained pilots, this would be a different story.
So NO, they aren't essentially fighting NATO.

Europe/NATO/whoever are supporting Ukraine, Iran/China/whoever are supporting Russia. None of those supporters are directly involved in the war, so they are not fighting in that war.

The only country who openly joined the war with larger combat formations is North Korea - on the side of Russia

"Fighting NATO" is the narrative the Kremlin has come up with to explain domestically why they still haven't won in Ukraine, a country with way less people, troops, and overall resources.

Russia is whining (about foreign support for Ukraine), not winning.
