I've always thought socialism is intrinsically inferior to most versions of Capitalism due to socialism's structural inefficiencies in mobilizing capital, especially human capital that have been severe enough to offset socialism theoretical redistribution advantages.

Writers like Friedrich Hayek and Henry Hazlitt recognized that socialisms fatal flaw is distributing capital, goods and services which require knowledge that is easy to crudely approximate but practically impossible to get close enough to match capitalism performance without need for such knowledge.

Of course they wrote before generative AI capabilities. I've always said that if ever technology took us to a point in which human labor is a trivial bottleneck to economic growth, then the time for socialism to replace capitalism could finally be ripe. So I may end up abandoning capitalism much sooner than I'd have ever guessed.
