Seriously it's flickering all the time, ever since the Leia holo in the very first movie! Bragging about light sabres and star destroyers, but can't even get their holos right!

It is patchy, but that's due to the protocols in place to ensure perfect E2E encryption. Only intended recipients get the holo-message.
