I sincerely hope our country isn't going to revert to form and treasure this meaningless "special relationship". It's done, finished, the US administration cannot be trusted to honour anything. To say they are compromised would be a gross understatement.

I think we know where the only palatable future lies but we suffer from a significant minority of people who have fallen down the rabbit hole (not that we are exceptional in this, but sharing a common language with the US makes it much more potent).

I don't know how but the rest of the free world need to align - EU, UK, Canada, Latin America, Japan, etc, etc, to protect what we have. These are dangerous times, possibly the most dangerous we've ever encountered.
