Extreme performative vindictiveness towards class enemies, overt contempt for moral/legal norms and respectability, cultural revanchism as implied by the name. Probably other things too but I have to get ready for work soon and it's too early to really think properly about the question.

EDIT after breakfast: I would say the essence of MAGA is the belief that the government's top priority should be to use its power to damage and hinder progressivism and progressive projects, due to progressivism posing an existential threat to the essential nature of America. The threat being so dire, extreme tactical and ethical flexibility in the pursuit of its destruction is not only excusable but laudable, as a sign of conviction.

So the funny thing about this is, the first I heard of this murder was on a Mennonite protest sight. Seems she was an observer from/representing a pacifist group. And now she's a domestic terrorist. I think I mentioned that, when applying for a transfer from Argentina to Germany, there was also the option to move to Houston (and the salary they offered was better), but I did not want to raise my kid in the US (and her age and future was a very big factor in our decision to emigrate in the first place).

Even though back then the choice already favored Europe over the US, boy did I make the right call.
