I do think Russia has probably been hurt the most by this war after Ukraine itself and much of the damage will be very slow to reveal itself and very hard to reverse but that is to be expected given the size and breadth of the punitive trade measures that have impacted it. Just compare how the Russian economy has performed in the face of the trade sanctions and a sizable war on its border to the performance of the Greek economy during the debt crisis. I don't advise throwing stones towards the Russian economic performance.
