A failed Russian state would be a bad outcome for everyone. No one wants that. What everyone outside of Russia wants is a Russia that is free, prosperous, and does not feel like they have to dominate their neighbors to be relevant.

If you really understood the consequences of nuclear war then you would understand that Russia would be utterly destroyed with over 90% of its population dead. The west would be severely hurt, but would likely survive and retain cohesiveness. In time the West would recover...Russia would be gone forever.
