"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law" - Aleister Crowley, The Book of Law

It is the Law of Nothing. No thought can stand against it. Everything else is illusion.

Jordan's district, "The Duck," is one of the most famously gerrymandered carve-outs in the country.

But from what I've read they left in the mechanism that a single one guy can initiate a motion to remove the speaker (which brought down McCarthy). Unless the House GOP magically resolves all differences this looks like a recipe for further trouble.
looks like the populist right got someone they can stomach, I doubt moderate establishment members will call for a vote of no confidence. Maybe Dems will, if the guy cant keep his party in line they could force him out too. Tough job, but I think he's the grease to the squeaky wheel

they're about the only people in the House actually getting reforms done, when the prog Dems had Pelosi over a barrel they bent the knee and got nothing...utterly worthless.

I'm sure funding anything will precipitate the next implosion. We're probably in this mess because on several levels, Gaetz and friends would view a shutdown government as a net "win" despite it being vastly more expensive both long and short term than full funding and despite it almost certainly leading directly to total Democrat control of federal government.
