I couldn't make it past 0:00:48. "..give my son a bb gun and that's all the emotional support he needs." Really?

That is a shame as it is a good documentary. I can understand why you would prefer not to hear things outside of your ideological bubble. Seeking our and at least trying to understand multiple view points is usually considered a good thing though.

Yeah, I already lived 18 years with a father who provided no emotional support, I don't need another 90 minutes of it, thanks.

Oh, it has Jordan Peterson. I'd rather put a gun in my mouth than listen to that brain damaged quack.

This is really what the "documentary" comes down to isn't it? A bunch of fathers not supporting the choices their children and whining about it. Yes I am quoting myself.

Sure. The guy who actually does read both sides before making a decision on a topic is just like the guy who not only doesn't know what the other side is saying but refuses to learn. In your world up is the same as down, right is the same as wrong, and I am sure you think you look good.

Tell us you don't know what the documentary says without saying it.

Yep, this why he is so far off on what it actually says. Some enjoy living in ignorance though. Sad, but true.

I'm not particularly left wing fyi. I don't think young kids should be getting gender affirming care, in fact I think it should wait till at least 18. I think the documentary is coming from a place of hate not love. Unfortunately at least half of the right wing is made up of hateful self loathing middle aged white men.

It just asks questions and then shows response of people with different takes on the issue. That is not in any way hate. That is why it is always better to actually listen to arguments, view primary sources, then make up your own mind. Other wise you end up with false conclusions.

BTW there is nothing more hateful or more evil then mutilating and sterilizing a child who cannot consent. Especially since at least 80% of them just grow out of it while the other 20% just end up gay. This is child abuse of the worst kind.

Of course, that's why circumcision should be outlawed which I'm sure all the speakers in your documentary agree should be the case.

Most of the speakers were on the opposite side of the debate to the documentary maker. At least the first 40 or so minutes I was able to listen to. Had a very Daily Show on the road at a Trump rally vibe about it (make the other side look foolish with simple questions that tie them in knots), but from the other side of the debate.

One thing that struck me about the interview technique, the interviewees didn't spot the logical fallacies embedded in the questions, or possibly that if they did then the footage wasn't used. For example, one question made the implication that any child's belief is invalid - the argument being that if a child has a belief that Santa is real doesn't that mean they have no real grasp on 'truth' or 'reality' and so be wrong about their experience around gender. If we say we won't believe or accept what a child says because they believe in unicorns or Santa, or flat earth or stolen elections, etc then that could lead to some really big problems. Appropriate course is to explore where their beliefs are coming from and be a good parent and understand your child, not ignore them, tell them they are wrong or immediately start pumping drugs or arranging surgery. Middle ground that most caring parents would probably choose seemed to be lacking.
