Apparently not...if you listen to any U.S. Generals. Wall Street Journal had an interesting article on how the U.S. is helping prep the Ukrainians. I would link but it is a pay site (and personally I hate people who link to pay sites! )

Sounds like morale boosting BS but we'll find out soon enough

You might be right, here's a video of a Russian officer talking about a coming Ukrainian offensive

I'm not sure why he made a video or how it ended up on Twitter but there it is

I don't dare to make a prediction, but from all I've read separating the front in the south to isolate Crimea again would hurt Putin quite a bit. Otoh there was also lotsa talk last year about Kherson, and then the more successful Ukrainian counteroffensive was in the north/east, while liberating Kherson (the city, not the entire region) proved to be more difficult.

It's hard to judge what Ukraine can mobilize for a new offensive at this point. Last year it also took month-long preparations (strikes vs. Ru logistics etc) before it actually went off.

Nah...just testing the predictive power of the Poly braintrust with a simple poll

Medvedev disagrees with Berz, who has to adjust now:

Russian forces preparing for Ukrainian counteroffensive, says Medvedev

Former president also warns Moscow will use ‘absolutely any weapon’ if Kyiv attempts to retake Crimea
I expected Med to be a tad more confident in his conventional army, but oh well...

No one can know for sure except Ukraine. Make a guess! Yours is as good as anyone's.

Well, voted to cut off Crimea then Let's see if they can pull it off.

voted for Melitopal even though Mariupol would probably cut Crimea off even more effectively if they could pull it off.

I only voted Mariupol because Russia expects the attack to come at Melitopol. Russia has supposedly built lots of trench's and tank traps there.

Not looking good. Owing to non deliveries to Ukraine if I answered the poll today I'd have to go with "bananastan", as in "never".

No Ukraine offensive without more weapons – Zelensky

URL still is the same at bbc site, and works fine when I paste to browser, but for some reason gives 404 from the post
