  • Trumps tax returns

Here a link to a first analysis by someone in this field.
Seems like there were good reasons why Trump fought tooth and claws in order to prevent their publication

In a criminal case, the burden of proof is on the state. It shouldn't be to hard to produce "evidence of business activity" that would at least create reasonable doubt. A Civil case is a different matter. In that type of case, Trump may have to "convince" people that these were actual businesses. There also remains the fact that they could actually be real businesses where he purposefully spent money that was "dual impact" and perhaps priced his services out of the market in order not to generate income.

Tax cases like these are not as easy to prosecute as the author of that article implies. Still, there is enough there, it appears from the article, that lots of somebodies are going to be taking a deep dive.

There really is nothing new in the report. The Trump 'fortune' was built on grifts by his daddy going back to the 1940s. His daddy was called before Congess to explain his grifts, and the Donald has been successfully prosecuted more than once.
Why are Americans so stupid about this guy?

no red flags. in fact. nothing at all. i think ALL dems should release their tax returns right now. step up to the plate and stand behind what you preach. otherwise, it's all fluff. my only thread tonight. believe it or not, MWHC not drinking tonight. I do think the dems did know there was nothing... they knew it for a while. maybe a couple of years now. they said nothing before this week because they knew as long as the milked it, it was something to milk. BUT! because their control is about to end (they lost the house) this is their last throw. sad as it may be... it's all they had left. wow. 6 years wasted. sad.

This s***storm for the last seven years has sure dropped off the news cycle. I guess it was a big fat nothingburger. May rank a close second to Russian Collusion

I am here for you ZEE. I was on a bit of the break there. Anyway, all this tax return fluff is just that. it will all go away as soon as REAL tax issue with biden and son of biden (aka hunter) turn up in several boxes next to hunters car. Then! all the dems/liberals will whine how this is not a big deal. They will all whine how the GOP is just playing it.

                          According to eFile :

...In 2021, President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden ended up paying $148,687 in federal income taxes based on their total adjusted gross income of $610,702. This resulted in an effective tax rate of around 25%...
Name 3 Presidents, since Nixon, who didn't release their tax returns. I can think of two, but Ford was never elected President.

Although there is a heated debate around presidential candidates’ tax returns, they are not required by law to release them to the public. Like anyone else (even you), presidential candidates/or presidents can exercise their constitutional right to privacy regarding tax returns. Are you against constitutional rights Uncle Sparky??

All decent presidents do it 'cause they are expected to be better than us.

I'm not as familiar with the American Constitution like you are... What part of the Constitution are you refering? Are you suggesting that people are better for pleading the 5th? Trump must be the bestest American ever under that criterium.
