Communism and fascism, and crypto-variants of each, have both lived far, far longer than they needed to because of that idea: "We need to take the side of these extremists because they're the guys standing up to the other side's extremists, who are even worse." Bugger that. I don't like extremists and refuse to align with them. Fascism is wrong, dumb, and evil (and Dinner is AFAICT a vaguely IDWish American ex-liberal who's said some racist stuff in the past, nothing more), and communism is wrong, dumb, and evil in different ways, and I don't feel the need to side with the theoretically lesser of two evils, whichever that is.

To slavishly worship a mythologized idea of your nation's past and use it to justify violent expansionism and cruelty to foreigners and ethnic minorities is horrific. To entrust the nation's future to a gang of violent men who will forcibly confiscate all of its wealth, then "equitably" redistribute it in a totally honest and fair way pinky promise, is also horrific. A pox on both. The older I get, the more libertarian I lean. Human beings are too fallible, too sinful, to be trusted with power, and the best form of government is that which most decreases the ability of any given individual to impose his will on others.

And then you get to Russia where an essentially fascist leader is openly nostalgic for communism, and I don't even know how that works wtf how do you **** it up both ways at once it's like you got a third-degree burn from frostbite

I look at the result

I want a society of free education free health care no poverty and I haven't been fooled in believeing that htis creates less freedom.
I know those are communist ideals so why hide behind the meaning of the words

If we don't talk about wha't important and what we feel then the corps will steal us blind.
