  • Putin ally and Wagner founder admitting US election interference

The influential Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, who is linked to President Vladimir Putin and has faced sanctions from Washington and European countries, admitted on Monday to interfering in US elections.

“Gentlemen, we interfered, we are interfering and we will interfere,” Prigozhin, who has been accused of running a “troll factory” to influence the outcome of votes in several western countries, said in a statement quoted by his team.

“Carefully, precisely, surgically and the way we do it, the way we can,” Prigozhin quipped.

Prigozhin, 61, was responding to a request to comment on a Bloomberg report saying Russia was interfering in the US midterm elections.

The announcement was published on the last day of campaigning on the eve of a midterm election that will shape the rest of US president Joe Biden’s term – and could pave the way for a White House comeback by Donald Trump.

In September, Prigozhin confirmed he had founded the Wagner mercenary group, whose members have been at the forefront of Moscow’s offensive in Ukraine.

The high-profile announcement was interpreted by many analysts as evidence Prigozhin was considering a possible political role in Russia.

For years, the Wagner group had been suspected of playing a role in realising Moscow’s overseas ambitions, with the Kremlin denying any links. Its presence has been reported in conflict zones including Syria, Libya, Mali, and Central African Republic, where it has been accused of abuses and capturing state power.

How did Biden get him to admit it

I actually think that many countries interfere in other country's elections. I also believe the U.S. is as guilty as anyone at it.

Dems and Republicans interfere with US elections all the time.

have you seen the ads from Russian troll farms from the 2016 election? I've seen a few, it was clickbait to generate ad revenue and most of it had nothing to do with the election. The amount spent was minuscule and a majority of the ad buy came after the election.

This was a scam by the Democrats and neocon Republicans to smear Trump as a traitor.

Do you receive cheques from the Wagner Group, or do they make direct deposits?

It is part of theor disinformation/propaganda campaign which analysts say is just a "firehose of disinformation" designed to disinformation and create conflict. It is doubtful it is very effective especially since it mostly just amounts to spamming horse ****. It isn't aimed to help either party but just to spew anything which causes conflict.

So...Hillary and the Pizza parlor was FAKE????

Seriously, if Russian ads can affect your vote, then you don't have a clue anyway.

When troll farms are amplifying lies and contradicting truth, people "doing my own research" on social media are quite likely to enter an echo chamber that reinforces those same messages. A lie, repeated often enough by multiple sources, is perceived as truth. It's like self-administered brainwashing.

Yes. Right-wing Americans, left to their own devices, generally do not invent or spread false stories about politicians they disapprove of, and if they do make false stories they are less effective and catchy than those made up by Slavs. No American right-winger would ever have thought to speculate irresponsibly about Mr. Pelosi's gay lover without prompting from the Kremlin. Russians are just naturally superior to Americans at making up inflammatory lies, thanks to years of Communism, and they are leading our poor naive conservatives astray. Shame on them.

Maybe that Prigozhin guy is more like Alex Jones, set up a website for disinfo to sell stuff. So we just have to wait until he crosses a line and gets convicted as a fraudster by a Russian court

Mueller indicted some Russians, one of them challenged the indictment in court and it was dropped, kinda like the dog catching the car

Russiagate was a fraud, Clinton smeared her opponents in 2016 as traitors (Bernie, Greens, and then Trump) and fabricated the collusion. Even the Trump Tower meeting was a set up, Putin didn't send his agents to NYC to tell Trump they had Hillary's emails. That meeting was set up by the Clinton campaign.
