I developed some hate for the caps of to-go coffee, where you need to sip through the tiny opening. Most often I remove the cap after some time (only good to keep it if you don't wanna cool out the Holy Coffee too fast IMO).

My local Five Guys has started issuing paper straws for their milkshakes and they're pretty terrible. They start to lose integrity about halfway through the shake. But the worst part is they make a shrill, fingernails on chalkboard level sound when you push them through the lid.

Cavemen were perfectly capable of drinking before straws were even invented. That's right, they drank without straws.

This is irrefutable proof that people can drink without straws.

You can drink straight from bottle, glass or wineskin.

Maybe the supply chains for reliable, silent paper straws have been hit hard by the pandemic, so they need to resort to cheap replacements
