    I finally got COVID

    The symptoms are pretty intense. 102 temperature, soar throat, runny nose, coughing, fatigue but trouble actually sleeping, mild congestion, muscle soarness, and most strangely skin sensitivity to the point I don't want to wear a shirt. Oh, and my daughter caught it from me . These new omicron sub-variants are really nasty.

      how do you think you got it and what was your vaccine/booster status, like how recent?

          Ouch ... sounds worse than when I got it 3 months ago (in my case, I think, an Omicron variant before BA5).
          I felt a little bit sick for 2 days, with running nose and a little bit coughing and head like full of cotton wool and then it gradually got better

            I am wondering if I have had covid (note past tense).

            I had a can of Fanta a couple of days ago and it tasted very different from the Fanta I have had in the past. This evening I had a goat curry which tasted different from the other goat curries I have had at my local Indian eatery. I have had no symptoms other than a change of taste for Fanta and goat. I will get a RAT test tomorrow.

              Possibly ... after all, the severity of symptomes differs extremly between cases (some even having no symptomes at all) ...
              perhaps you should buy some self-tests and test yourself

                I almost definitely got it at work. I have Two Pfizer vaccines + Booster. I got the Booster Dec 2021.

                My taste and smell have been unaffected. Good luck.

                  You and your daughter will be fine. Covid is overrated. I had it twice. Omicron is a peace of cake, Delta was more serious.

                    I am hoping I do have covid so I can get it over with. I definitely have something that is very unpleasant.

                    Now I need to go to get my covid test.

                      There is no getting it over with. The latest is that infection makes one more predisposed to subsequent infections!

                    Covid is horrible. Having lost my brother to it, I long ago gave up any illusions that it was not to be treated with the utmost care. Best wishes EPW...hoping for your speedy recovery.

                      Every case is individual, and the ongoing variants make it unpredictable.
                      I've been fortunate so far but, as an old fart, I don't take my health for granted.

                        I was applying for a game design job, but I got sick right before the interview. I called ahead to rearrange it, but they told me that they have plenty of people scheduled for that day, so they called off my interview.
