Apparently some Russian troops raided a John Deere dealer, stole some $500,000 combine harvesters. John Deere knows this because the combines have satellite communications -- something most Russian military vehicles don't have, btw -- and they were able to track them to a farm several hundred miles inside Russia.
They were also able to "brick" them remotely. They're good for spare parts and little else, now.
Now, soldiers have looted from time immemorial, but...combine havervesters? Not the sort of thing you can hide in a rucksack. What does it say about Russian commend and control that several combine harvesters could be moved to a farm in Russia?
