  • Happy Russia's day!!!

Today is a National holiday in Russia, sorta like the 4th of July for USA, with only exception that they celebrate their independance from British, while we have celebrated the Russian independance from Russia when Yeltsin was in charge (they called it the independance day back then).
Now, when Putin came, it is just "the day of Russia".

So, I don't have to work tommorow, because it will be a day off (since today is sunday)

    Go ahead, spit your curses!!!

You're certainly in need of another independence from Russia.

Ukraine is struggling with theirs, but it seems like you *******s finally forced their hand.

For us in NRW, we have a holiday on Thursday ... Fronleichnam (Feast of the happy corpse (joking ... it is Feast_of_Corpus_Christi))

Which actually made me take holiday for the whole week, because I still have more than 20 days of paid holidays left which i can assign, and it is a good time due to workload, so no work till 20th of June unless something unforeseen problems happen with the databases at our construction sites

They got their independence in 1991, but then immediately lost it and became a Western whore, which they are now, but that is not for long.

Oops! I forgot that you are still ruled by the British queen, like Canucks. My congrats!

Just how old is she, a century?

Every Russian has a 22 paid National holydays + 28 paid vacation days minimum every year. I have a 32 days long paid vacation. The ones who work in the "Arctic areas" have a two months long paid vacation.

              So what?...

Well, each german has at a minimum 24 paid vacation days per year ... most companies, however (like mine) give 30 days.
If you don't manage to take all holiday days in one year, you usually can take them in the next year first half of the next year (which is the case in my company) or,
in some companys, you may get them paid out.

For me, I actually had 36 holiday days durign the beginning of the year (due to not taking 6 days in the last year)

Regarding national holidays ... depends on the state where you live in ... most holidays are religious holidays .. and they differ with regards to, whether the state was, during the medieval times, dominated by protestants or catholics.
Here in NRW (protestant), for example, we have 11 paid holiday days ... 12 if we add Sylvester and Holy Eve, which are no official holidays, but most companies give half a day paid vacation on these days.
The catholic Bavaria on the other hand has 13 (+1) ... or even 14(+1) if you live in Augsburg.

So, we aren't that far off from you, here in germany, with regards to free time

I should add, however, that some of the national holidays have a chance to be on a Saturday or Sunday, so the actual number of paid national holidays actually depends on the year (I am still yearning for a system like Japan has, where National Holidays, if they are on a workfree day, are automatically shifted to the next workday)

Your talking to the people of the west Serb, we all get holidays. Some more, some less. Depends on your circumstances. And yeah the Government throws in a few too.

                    Happy Russia Day.

so if you;re doing an intellectual as opposed to a menial job, it's a holiday
