What are we drinking today? Is there a go-to formula that is most effective, like Everclear with a Kerosene chaser, or do we play wetbar roullette?

I am not drunk also. I usually am, and don't intend to get drunk again, but thought I could post.

Since now if I have a drink I want to make sure that I don't get drunk, I almost always have either wine or beer and I have only one glass.

The drunkest I get is when I decide to purchase a nice Belgian Ale but I rarely do that now because they are high alcohol and they often only come in a large bottle.

              Not drunk either

I did buy an IPA beer last night.
Indian Pale Ale has become a fashion here and there are many such beers.

They are basically beer with orange/other likewise flavors. Εσπεριδοειδή in greek. (the family oranges, citruses are from)

It was an anglish beer that was called hobgoblin. And sure enough it has a disusting looking hobgoblin in front.

And I thought in greek mythology the "nasties" were doom - inducing figures, very frightful. Not some disgusting looking goblins.

Anyway the beer was nice and I drunk it in the park and was happy to see the park was discreetly policed/monitored

There is a liquor in Argentina which has been produced since the 1860s and made from mostly orange peels, which is called Hesperidina Now I know where the word comes from.

              Hobgoblin is nice.

IPAs have been a big fad for a decade at least. They have a lot of hops, so they tend to be bitterer with much greater flavour.

The hops serve as a sort of preservative in beer, and the extra hops meant that the India Pale Ale could better whistand the trip from Britain to India.

I did not know that! Always nice to learn something. But overly hoppy beer = for me. Give me a good lager or Kolsch or something. Not a big beer guy. Just makes me feel sleepy and bloated. Maybe it's the grain or something. I'd much rather commmune with the spirit world.

Εσπεριδοειδή (Hesperidoeidi) literally means varieties of the west. how it came about I have no idea. I did a quick search and there was something about divinities guyarding "western fruits" and a language loan exhnage with french. Anyway, very good catch nestor looks like you can read greek characters

I blame studying engineering. Between physics and statistics, you get exposed to almost all the Greek alphabet

Εσπερία (Hesperia) means west in ancient greek (today replaced by Δύση (sunset)

I continue to not be drunk altough I think I burned my tongue on coconut miulk and green curry extra chilli hicken. I'll usrvive.

It's weird posting not drunk but what can you do.

I've been thinking of situations and how before older people took care of the problems that arose for us and now we are taking care of problems that arise in the younger generation.

                        hopefully without total disaster

I am not drunk. I wish there was a drug I enjoyed. Open to suggestions!

I haven't had anything to drink for a couple of weeks, other than a beer at a burger place. I was feeling like a beer and not wanting to eat out, and so bought a lambic. But it was a 200th anniversary lambic (https://www.brewbound.com/news/linde...dition-lambic/ ) and I felt I should save it for a special situation, so I opened up a midweek Prosecco for the first time in forever. Procesecco can be an OK summer wine and it was 69 F this morning and 90 F this afternoon (same the last couple of days).
