this is really interesting. I like learning about cutting edge discoveries in matters that interest me, because sometimes older knowledge is being superceded.
I found particularly interesting hoow for every dopamine-hit there must be a counter hit further down in time that can only be administered by the organism through pain.
when you upset the balance, you're going to be paying for it later. also there is a constant flow of dopaomine. drinks (or other dopamine spiking agents) increase the flow. then the organism wants to restore the balance. so what does it do? it inflicts pain (emotional or physical even) to return there.
anyway it really has been one year of complete abstinence from alcohol. even with my late binges the body must have repaied itself to an oustounding leve because the next day I'm almost perfect.
anyway yesterday that feeling of desperation and confinment begun to emerge again so I just called a friend and we went out (ok, and I drunka beer but with company) and we ate the late time "Dirty" (greasy after bar food). it was nice. just messed around for 4 hours talking.
If this thread was pot friendly we could have some fun.

I have to say that I come closer to approving of the stuff that tends to mellow folk out and make them hungry than the stuff the just makes people stupid...
I had an alcoholic gf when I was younger that always wanted to go for a drive after she got drunk. Meanwhile my stoned ass was perfectly happy on the couch listening to tunes.

I was in college for a very long time before I picked a major, and spent six years on the road with renfaire hippies straddling the turn of the century - I've seen some things.
