        You claimed :

Russia is the top producer of wheat.

        Which isn't true

So much wheat, so few people to eat it.

Well, the Russians are too busy losing an unjust war to eat their Wheaties.

Honestly, that really don't matter much when the court in Haag send out arrest orders for Putin and other war crime subjects currently active in Ukraine - when they are rounded up, russia may come to sense

In the US there is a brand Charles Shaw that has the nickname 2 Buck Chuck. It sold for $2 a bottle when it first came out. Current price is about $4 a bottle now. It is passable stuff.

I think Rewe (and also Familia if you're in the NW) carry an Argentine wine called Trapiche, the cheaper version is under 5€ and is decent (the other one is very good). Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, i prefer the Malbec.

There are tons of good cheap wines none of which are french,
french don't have good cheap wines. greeks and spanish cheap wines are very good IMO

I also bought once a below 5 euros argentinian wine which was ok. (how an argentiniean bottle ended up in a peripheral greek supermarket I don't know but I bought it)

You don't remember the brand, by any chance?

We should have a much larger presence worldwide, there is so much potential, but the government for the past 20+ years has only been interested in taxing as much as possible and not making any efforts to help the positioning of Argentina as a good wine brand.

Both Argentine and Chilean wines can be tremendous values. I've had especially good luck with the reds.
Not as cheap as they used to be, but the quality is shockingly good for the price point.

A Portuguese wine called Mateus is very popular and although not cheap is a relatively inexpensive wine that many people enjoy.

I don't remember the brand but I think it started with a "T" and maybe it was the name of a place like tolero toledo tolomerico something like that.
The wine was white with flowery essences and slightly acidic in a way that no european wine was (strange but pleasant). the etiquede on the bottle was faded yellow with something like flowers or some wavy design.
