Unlike Americans we have withdrown our forces from Europe, while you still have your occupation forces in Europe and Japan since 1945!
You do realize that Soviet Union has lost 27 million lives in WW2?The Iwo Jima connection is silly as its represents a response by Americans to an attack by Japanese soldiers on Americans. You do care about those poor American soldiers who lost their lives on that poor ship Arizona?
The American casualities in war vs. Nazi were 150 thousand and about the same in war vs. Japan.

I think the Estonians should respect that monument as it represents booting the Nazis out of their country and it cost a lot of young Russians their lives. But once the Nazis are gone the Russians should have packed up and went home. Maybe the Estonians could show some love and appreciation by giving Russian tourists free drinks or something for life.

Considering what the Japanese did to the poor Chinese, Japan should consider itself lucky to have a big buddy like America.
Geo-politics is crazy.

Of a sort, I suppose. But I don't think we were claiming to liberate the place - it's a japanese island, isn't it? And we weren't in a war with Japan entirely by choice.
I think you mean the monument under threat? I don't know that I'd get worked up; I've never been a big fan of worshiping soldiers and other armed enforcerers of the status quo, and our recent intensified Nazi problem has put even more of a bad odor on that than ever.
