Would you prefer to be known as ignorant and stupid rather than as morally repugnant and intellectually dishonest.

I would prefer to be regarded as ignorant and stupid. Morality and dishonesty are choices whereas ignorance and stupidity are not characteristics one chooses.

I don't feel like starting a poetry thread, so I'll put this here:

My Anti-Klan Poet Disappeared

Although I am nor a poet
I think all Klansmen should be killed.
They don't need to be lynched,
which is cruel and unusual punishment,
Nor does anyone need to go to a church full of Klansmen
and fire bomb it.

But they should be killed none the less.

And there should be a prohibition about burying
or memorializing them in any way.
Only cremation and unmarked graves.

And I realize not all neo-Nazis are Klansmen.

That will be left for another poem.

Some people pretend they're stupid but they're not. You can steal a spark of malicious calculative intellect in their eye when they think you'r enot looking. Sometimes it's not even malicious.
