I never said that her story was true. You keep claiming that even though it's not true.

No... I'm simply saying that somebody that tells a crazy ass story with no proof, and then journalists and health officials investigate and find nothing, is simply a liar. Whether you believe her or not is not the issue. The issue is that you are defending her story.
So in kidland, you can simply say anything you want and it might be true... gee, just like Trumps claim he won in a landslide...
Keep on Civin'

I must admit, although I am pro vaccination and totally understand that being vaccinated not only lowers my own risk but that of the community as a whole, I'm with Kid in that I don't think people should be forced to take the vaccine.
Educational material explaining the benefits and countering the misinformation should be promoted, free and convenient access should be available, and incentives offered. Ultimately though, if someone has such a deep distrust of government, health institutions and science, and if they're scientific literacy and numeracy is that poor, then forcing them will only entrench those. I think it's counterproductive overall to mandate, in this case.
I'd place a proviso that until everyone who wants to be vaccinated is vaccinated that those who aren't should have their ability to infect others curtailed.
If it were ebola, polio, or something else that seriously affected a higher percentage of the population, I might be more in favour.

If you just keep saying that I'm defending her story then I don't know what to say. But I'm defending her. I don't care if she lied. That's her business.Originally posted by Ming View PostNo... I think the vaccines are good. I just think Biden is doing this for his approval rating. I would like to see people like Dr Fauci and Joe Biden go to prison where they belong then we can talk about trusting the government.Originally posted by ricketyclik View PostI must admit, although I am pro vaccination and totally understand that being vaccinated not only lowers my own risk but that of the community as a whole, I'm with Kid in that I don't think people should be forced to take the vaccine.

I think that's how they programmed you to think. That's why you believe all their lies.

I presume you're referring to the current US government. I agree, but as pointed out below, they are the current least bad option. That's generally the way democracy works. It's an imperfect system, but we still haven't got a better one.Originally posted by Kidicious View PostWrong. The government is full of liars and crooks. They are horrible people that can't be trusted. If you think otherwise then maybe you are brainwashed by fake news.
(I think a way to improve democracy is by having more proportional representation, by way of voting systems like Hare-Clark).

Sure there's least bad options but that doesn't solve the problems that we have. When you have corruption like this the least worst candidate doesn't make significant difference.

Yes. That's the only statistic I could find. If you don't get admitted to the hospital then you aren't included. I know people that got it and never got admitted and I know a 29 year old that got it and had to go to the hospital more than once. He said it was really bad, but he lived.Originally posted by Berzerker View Post

I think it's hilarious that Berz is just accepting Kid's assertions and statistics without any hint of their source, timing, or verity.
Not saying it's untrue. But it's definitely amusing.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011
