      The correct answer is zero.

Straws are one solid piece of material. The "holes" you perceive are constructs and not part of the straw itself.

thats good... but I'd have to go with 2 holes. If my golf ball ends up in a hole dug by a critter, and I accidentally step into the rodents back door and break my ankle I'd consider that 2 holes. Or, with a straw, blocking one end still leaves the other

if there's a right answer this could be on an iq test

Does this mean a loudmouth and an arsehole are constructs, and not part of the person themself? For those who say there is only one hole, is their mouth the same hole as their arse?

This whole thread looks like a strawman argument to me

Plastic straws will probably be banned soon in Australia.

Can a didgeridoo be used as a straw?

Perhaps you can collect them all and use them to build a replacement for the Great Barrier Reef.

We will have a "Floating Barrier Reef" when the Great Barrier Reef has finished disappearing.

The Great Barrier Reef is losing coral at an alarming rate and might cease to exist in the foreseeable future. A Great Plastic Reef would be very durable, and towable, but a rather poor substitute.

                2.

There is one hole inside the straw and one (very large) hole on the outside of the straw.
