  • Taxing big companies

...seems it will be a thing?

Finance ministers from the G7 group of leading economies are confident of striking a deal on taxing multinational companies at their meeting in London.

The agreement is expected to include a global minimum rate of corporation tax.

It would target tech giants such as Amazon and Microsoft.

Large corporations can afford a lot more tax skirting/avoiding than small and medium enterprises. Having the former be on a more level playing field with the latter shouldn't affect prices very much (and should also give the latter a better standing when competing with the former, boosting local economies).
