Vaccination passports, or whatever they're called.

What's the forum wisdom () on this?

    1. It's great, because there is no reason to keep covid-related restrictions for vaccinated people. Those restrictions are meant to stop/slow the spread of the thing, which is moot after vaccination.

    2. It's ungreat, because vaccinated people would be unfairly privileged in consequence. Regardless of being vacc-ed or not, people always deserve the same treatment/freedoms.

Hola, no sabía que te pasabas por aquí.

While they're not particularly nice, i think it's the only way for at least some people to start to go back to normal. Otherwise we'll have to wait until entire regions eliminate the virus, which might take a while, and pretty much quarantine entire countries (India is not solving their problems any time soon for example)

Hola. Antes tenía el Spanish Forum en favoritos e ignoraba el resto de Apoly al entrar. Pero ahora me doy cuenta de que por aquí hay algunas conversaciones interesantes, además de las siempre divertidas peleas de borrachos :-)

          1. bring on the the passports.
If people aren't going to get vaccinated, that's their choice. If that means that can't do some of the things that vaccinated people can, so be it. They can't have it both ways.

As long as we do not reach herd immunity, bring on the passports.
After that, they are not of any use anymore so they can be cancelled.

Option 1 for me. They can now have fun travelling whereas I can't. Because I'm still not vaccinated...

As the vaccines have been fast tracked, liability waived, and not properly tested: No federal vaccine passports. No unconstitutional vaccine passports/requirements State, Local, or business. Constitutional State, Local, or business are ok (unsure on what form would be constitutional).

Just read about a ruling that businesses can't force or entice vaccination on employees without accepting workers comp liability. If it holds it basically ends vaccine passports in the US.

It will be back again and again. There is no lasting herd immunity.

Yes, I do. In the US there is currently proposals, mostly from the far left, that people should not be allowed to leave their home unless they can prove they have had the vaccinations. For better or for worse this proposal is likely unconstitutional as medical decisions are private and the constitution makes no provision for such massive increases in federal power.

They are already talking g about regular booster shots. So it does seem what you said may actually happen.

                          Obviously this is the case.
But if enough people are vaccinated the passports are not needed anymore.

You are at the point where millions of doses of the vaccine are available but hardly anyone is showing up to get them. Here in San Diego the last figure I saw was 52% are vaccinated but now vaccination centers are mostly empty with staff waiting for customers who aren't showing up for their free vaccines.

Part of that may be people not knowing where to go, even though it has been advertised heavily, but most of it seems some people really don't want to get it.
