2-3 if I drink, and I'm not supposed to, in theory.
My theory is moderation in all things.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Thanks You have quite a few qualities of a true friend Dinner.

Well now it's 4 weeks of no drink.
Just like that because I realized that there was a problem.

I have also quit smoking long ago. Quit drinking is 10 times harder...

                Anxious...

Also I used not to dream. At all.
Now I dream every night. Not nightmares but not pleasant dreams either. Like there is a slight tension/danger in each dream

Now it's 7 weeks of no drink.
Literally the most I ever did.
I think this is the secret for me at least.
Apart my pathetic drunken binge nights at poly I didn't think there was another bad thing about it but I was wrong.
It had impacted my life profoundly.

Alcohol is a poison. Sorry if I sound like a zealot.

I also start witnessing the positive effects of abstinence like when I quit smoking.

First you de-bloat. People who drink are bloated. Alcohol has many empty calories.
It hadn't severly impacted me financially but there is some gain in there too

The dreaming each and every night (with a slight dreary edge to each dream) was stressful but it has now subsided. It is not every night.

I think it is very noble as a goal to rid yourself of addictions if you can.

And my theory that the human brain is miraculous and can do whetever you order it to do, seems to hold water.

You have to step away and look back to realize some things and how far in them you were

Well now it's 5 months with no drink with alcohol.

Turns out it was easy too. The mind will do what the mind is commanded.

However two days ago I was at a cultural event and they were giving free beer. It was very hot and I only had one small bottle of water, so when that girl offered me the beer I was at a dilhemma. Should I chance it? If I did it would be jsut because I wanted to be kept hydrated.
Anyway so after 5 months a beer.

                    1. the taste sucks.
                    2. I wasn't drinking it to get drunk. In fact I had no idea why I was drinking it.
                    3. No buzz and I didn't want any.

                    Nothing changed afterwards.

                    So meh

HOWEVER, the mind I felt it, like it got a nudge towards alcohol. I felt it.

                    So that's all.

I was troll-y in the first response above. I apologize.

I'm impressed with what you're doing. Way to go, sir.
