The bigger the screen the better for this one. I saw it last night on a big cinema screen, but if we still had an IMAX, I'd see it again there. I liked it more than the Lynch version, and I'm a Lynch fan. I wouldn't be surprised if this one receives 8-10 Oscar nominations.
Very please to hear that a second part is confirmed.Last edited by Uncle Sparky; November 3, 2021, 13:13.There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

Maybe I can catch it in Amsterdam, I'm going there for the weekend.
smaller lanuage blocks do not, it's not financially sound.
ironically the second have it best since we are saved from attrocious dubbing (some are an art form but not for mainstream movies) plus we usually have a better grasp of english (though that also depends widely)
in belgium you can also catch the films in original language if you go the flemish part. in the walloon part they're french dubbed
greece denmark holland and most other countries have them just subtitled

Spain and Latin America do not share dubs, or even subtitles. Our Spanish is too different.
In Argentina we even used to have mostly subbed movies (except for kids movies where it was common to have dubbed version for the early screenings and subbed for the later ones).
Now it's a bit less like that, with more like 50% of movies being dubbed (although i could be wrong, i haven't been to the cinema in around 5 years).

Mask wearing is not required in cinemas here during the movies currently. Only when you enter and leave with the crowds. Once you're on your seat you can take it off, the seats next to you are left free for distancing.
I wouldn't like to watch a full movie under a mask either. Of course you gotta be vaccinated to enter the cinema to begin with (or have one the 3G alternatives).

Only been to a cinema once but it was an artsy pansty one and there the mask was obligatory and they were like the gestapo observing that the measure was observed,
So I checked the regular cinemas and yep, it is mandatory there too.... plus having been vaccinated or recovered.
if I put a sirurgical mask my glasses get fogged up. if I put a KN95 on the glasses are ok but it really is suffocating having to wear that for hours on end. if it's for work or travel etc I can tolerate it but not for entertainment

wow interesting that spanish has been differantiated so much. well I do not know what goes on with spain, I just followed up on my logic that you need to have a "crucial" mass to dubb all the movies and spanish have it (or so I thought)

It's not strictly population, but media-consuming population. There's enough moviegoers in Spain alone (and they will pay the premium to get content in their language) to justify a local dub.
In Latin America, while total population is much larger, moviegoing population is not much higher (might even be comparable, not sure) due to economic reasons. So we have a 'Latin American standard' that is used for most dubs and translations. It's closer to the Spanish talked in north and northern south America than what we speak here in Argentina or Uruguay, and has none of the Iberian slang present in their dubs/subtitles.
Indifference is Bliss

Mask: https://www.amazon.com/3M-Comfort-Fa...rpt=RESPIRATOR
Cartridge: https://www.amazon.com/3M-2091-Parti...ACEMENT_FILTER
Change the cartridge when it gets harder to breathe through; I've been using these for the entire pandemic and I haven't felt the need to change them.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.
