Gyros are definitely Greek. Kebab...I think there are a lot of claims to their origin.

They are called a "yiros' in South Australia.

They are often called kebabs in Syxney and Melbourne and sometimes gyros.

I am not aware of any difference between a yiros, a gyros and a kebab. Maybe they are different in the Mediterranean but here they seem the same.

The Greeks contributed lamb yiros to this world, a splendid contribution which deserved appreciation.

Yiros sounds like it is a more phonetic transliteration of the Greek...they do some weird **** to make hard g's, and then delta is more like the th- in the unless it has an n in front and same with beta and m-.

Damn you Greek, why are you so difficult? ;-)

It's confirmed, Greeks are the same as Turks.

The battle over the Colston statue has continued today as a new statue has appeared beside the empty Colston plinth.
