Tonight at 8:20pm in military time it will be 20 hours, 20 minutes, 20 seconds, in the year 2020 or 20:20.20 2020.

    Cool, huh?

Isn’t that every night this year?
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

And... Since we are talking about military time I thought I would post this oldie but goodie from 2014.

CAMP PENDLETON — A Camp Pendleton Marine who joined the Corps in 1942, retired earlier this month from his civilian job at Camp Pendleton.Sgt. Maj. Walter Valentine, 89, served in W…

It is about a local WW2 Marine Corp bet who was active duty Marine Corp from 1942 to 1972 then worked as a department of defense civilian employee at one of the local Marine Corp bases from 1972 until 2014. They guy was in constant federal service from 1942 until 2014 when he finally retired at age 89.

Do you think any millennials would do that kind of service?

No because the month and day would be different.

24 hour time format is the standard way to write time. Is it just the US and Canada that thinks of it as “military”?

For example, my laptop, phone, kitchen clock, etc all say 23:18, not 11:18. (Where digital).

Imagine if Oerdin had lived in 1212.

On 12 December he could chiselled a notice on the castle walls. It is now 12 seconds past 12 minutes past 12 o'clock on the twelfth day of the twelfth month of the 1212. That is 12:12:12 of 12.12.1212.

Oerdin missed his big chance for this poast by 1018 years.

Hard to chisel all that in one second.

Sadly, natural selection for survival of such an approach would surely be disappointing at best.
