Not that it is any of my concern, but the platform of the democrat that runs against Trump will not matter much. The political system at the federal level seems, at least for me, to be too dysfunctional to deliver any comprehensive policy reforms at all. Speaking as a non-US citizen in a democratic country it does, however, matter quite a lot that the democrats get rid of Trump (or, in practice, the pretorian guard, as Trump will not accept defeat and hide in his White House bedroom with a stockpile of cheeseburgers and with Fox News on at his gigantic television set, writing tweets until a couple of hefty guys and gals drags him from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue). Having the so-called leader of the strong world (it should probably refer to Merkel or even Macron nowadays, but they have their own problems) constantly tricked by China, Russia and a number of other authoritarian, dictators and strongmen is not helpful for the rest of us. It would be OK if elected leaders of democratic countries fooled the moron to the same degree as well (they do this as well to a degree, but they seem to have some soft, pinky liberal inhibition from robbing an idiot blind), as that would level out the playing field a bit, but alas they do not.

The fact of the matter is rhat Texas had an excellent turnout. All States tradionally have low participation, even in General Elections. Suppression, my ass.

Well the Texas voting suppression has been going on for years. Multiple lawsuits including the strictest voting ID law that was found to be unfairly targeting minorities. Look up that clown Jeff Sessions who had his dirty hands in it.

Combine that with over 700+ polling sites getting closed, along with decades old faulty equipment.

Were any of those long lines in rich white neighborhoods?

Last time I checked, Texas had the second lowest voter turnout, only beating out Indiana.

No offense, I know it’s instinct to defend the home turf, but one of the supposedly resilient qualities of a Democratic society is to be able to look at our system critically and fix flaws so we can improve. This isn’t some open sewer like China or a speak up and die society like Russia.

Even if Trump loses, I fear we’re too far down a path of old school Eurostocracy unless something radical changes.
