I have really loved Chicago, it is a great city with culture, public transportation, nice diversity, nice food, opportunities, events and more but at the same time it is not outrageously expensive like New York or San Francisco.
I am going to miss it.

That it is a place of great diversity and the real deal not what "we are fed" through TV and media. Nobody looks at you like you're a weirdo or something and that's you're free to be what you want to be. She also loved chicago. Also she said that it is more "relaxed" than New York. And she's just a kid from an adjacent neighborhood so I trust her (although she's a bit posh/aloof but not too much)Comment

Yes, it does feel more relaxed than many of the other great cities which is also something I like about it. It is not that Chicago is slow, it is just that there are multiple different speeds and you can find the speed you want.
I am expecting the Bay Area to be a lot more hectic.
