  • Is MarvelMania saving cinema or the end of cinema?

    - Marvel stuff, like it or not is so successful that it helps cinema, as it brings in money for other stuff
    - Marvel stuff is so successful that we only get more and more of the same, leading to oversaturation and creative blackout
    - Marvel stuff is successful now, but these trends come and go, so business as usual
    - I don't like CGI orgies
    - I only watch cineast masterpieces which are so intellectual that they bore anyone, except a few experts who understand the deeper meaning of them, but then they are so intellectual that nobody except themselves cares
    - I only watch tv shows
    - I only read books
    - I only read poly
    - Whatever

In the future, old people will fondly look back on 10’s movies as the golden age of cinema, and despair at how superhero movies have become so formulaic and reliant on special effects.

It is rather the end of hollywood. I remember when you could actually get to see great american films (hollywood and independent).
Now the french play without opponent and have conquered everything

The people have spoke, the bastards.
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

            It was a joke.
            Nobody cares about your subculture.

The top 5 films in Greece (and I'd imagine in Europe) have nothing to do with superheroe mental masturbation.

            The people have spoken indeed.

It is all about the demographics. Soon, this will be the majority of movie experiences:

You just say that because you're chinese, it has no relation with reality.
Also I'm pretty sure nobody knows what that film is (except the ones who know about the other subculture genre)

Those are the top 5 commercial films.
That means the top 5 mass culture films (not even cinephil ones)

                1. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7095482/
                2. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7231342...1?ref_=nv_sr_1
                3.https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7882250...1?ref_=nv_sr_1
                4. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7552686...1?ref_=nv_sr_1
                5. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6556670...1?ref_=nv_sr_1

That means noone wants the chinese garbage either.
                Both commercially and "demographically" (sic)

BTW I propose them to you.
                  They are worth it.
From comedy to drama. Not something special but no garbage either

Pchang, are you dense or something?

Bollywood has already overtaken hollywood in number of sales along time ago.

Do you know what difference this makes in the film industry here?

                    Zero.

Now maybe you are overrun with bollywood films over there but rest assured nobody here gives a **** about hollywood, bollywood or the ****ing chinese here.

                    And it's a 670 million people market.

(although I admit, I'd like to watch a bollywood film to laugh my ass off but there aren't any. Maybe the chinese will chip in)

Besides, I have a sneaking suspicion that the pervesive thematology of how to cook rice and have small d!cks won't excite the masses
