I dont think Jordan Spieth's caddy is long for his job. Yesterday Spieth hit 2 perfect shots, the 1st ran thru the fairway off a cliff. He dropped and his next flew the green and he told his caddy thats two perfect shots, Michael. He meant they were perfect if his caddy was feeding him good advice. Today Spieth was in a bunker and a not very visible rake outside the bunker in tall fescue grass stopped his ball leaving it on the lip of the bunker and just a recovery shot to get back into the fairway. He saved bogey with an 8-10 ft putt.

Well, Topeka native Gary Woodland shot -6 65 yesterday to take a 2 stroke lead. Sadly he wont be winning it, he lacks the finishing chops. I hope he proves me wrong. Keven Kisner was on a par 5 with a 4 1/2 ft putt for birdie, he caught the right lip and the ball exited stage left leaving about a 5 footer for par. He missed it, ran it by another 5 ft and proceeded to miss the bogie attempt for a 4 putt double bogey from 4 1/2 ft. Ouch!

Ian Poulter had a tough stance on the top of a green side bunker lip with his ball in fescue. He had to face the green with his feet and body perpendicular to his line as he awkwardly tried to keep his balance and duffed 2 shots, the 1st didn't even advance the ball and the 2nd went about a foot or two, enough to give him a regular stance. Thats why golf is so cool, the playing field constantly changes.

He played fantastic. It would have been really easy to drop a couple shots when he lost his tee shots to the right from about the 9th to the 13th. But he battled through it, found his swing down the stretch, and simply refused to fold. Frankly, he reminded me of Koepka the past couple years.

Making the birdie putt on 18 was a nice closing touch, too.

I now play the golf courses of the 2019 US Open winner

It doesn't make them any better

Sadly I never got to play with him, the closest I came was playing a scramble with his cousin who looks just like him. That dude was good, sure makes the game easier when you can blast it 300+ off the tee.
