Do preppers have a legitimate reason to be eternally offended when the specifc kind of disaster/apocalypse they prepared for does not occur within a reasonable amount of time?
And what if there is a different kind of disaster/apocalypse happening?
For instance if you got a private nuke-proof bunker, but are suddenly overrun by zombie hordes or beamed into an UFO for fun and experiments (before the rest of the planet gets destroyed by giant deathrays) it might be very frustrating.
IMO there should be some insurance for certain stuff to happen or at least the possibility to sue the government in case of failure to generate doomsday or something.
