Why should I get a new computer? I'll get to keep the hdd, the graphics card (which is ok more or less) I just want it to play games like civ 6 dragon age inquisition etc and I want to spend the absolute minimum of money. So why get 16gb when 8 will do the trcik? And furthermore why should I bother? that means re-installing windows etc etc I wqon't do it (just yet) however with black firday coming up the cost could really just evaporate we're talking a new pc with just a fraction of the price. will I stay strong?

It's sometimes really hard to justify PC upgrades. For example with a PC upgrade to the Marvel Universe we'd probably end up with superheroes like the Amazing Spider-Person.

32 gig wasn't that much more so I got it. It will probably keep me from buying a new one for a few years more.

While I have talked about getting a gaming computer, I haven't actually gotten a gaming computer since ~2008 or something.

So I guess the answer is "I don't".

I bought one way past what I actually use it for. (It will do great VR but only use it to play CIV IV)

But it will take a lot longer for it to go obsolete so I was able to justify it.

Your upgrades processor is still relatively slow. More RAM will greatly improve performance.

I-7 with 32 gig should cover me for a bit.
