  • The rise of veganism

    Is it good or bad?

Health, climate change, animal welfare... what’s driving more people and brands to embrace a plant-based lifestyle? We investigate, and, below, four vegans explain their choice

I see a couple of problems here:

    1. In case we meet space aliens from Vega there might be a lot of confusion about who's who.

    2. On the plus side veganism might save real humans in case of a zombie apocalypse, as vegan zombies are cool with not eating humans alive

    3. In the unlikely event of meeting space aliens from Vega *and* having a zombie apocalypse simultaneously we are back to pt. 1

I'm not even getting into this right now with these... well Self Biased does not me to use certain adjectives... so I will say: people.

Maybe on Sunday that is my day off. And I will drink about 10 rum shots. Then I will tell you in detail what I think of them. Then i will get banned.

More vegans will reduce the demand for meat which will make it cheaper for me.

I’m vegetarian (plant based +eggs) and working towards 100% plant based home grown diet. I need to cut the eggs back. Plant based diets are certainly better from an ethical and environmental perspective. It’s also better from a health perspective if done right, but more difficult and expensive to have a healthy diet.

I won’t be vegan though because I understand the problems that would arise if we just stopped animal agriculture and hunting altogether. Certainly both those things need a lot of changes to reduce animal suffering...

Also, I think better animal agriculture gives a path to reduce animal suffering. So long as there are consumers eating animals and animal products ... if there’s no grass fed free range (or better) meat, eggs, and dairy, consumers will just opt for the more horrific factory farmed stuff.

I think everyone else should be required to be vegan. That way I get all the best stuff for myself.

The Indian upper castes have the ultimate mind **** going on. They get to keep all the meat for themselves and they have fooled the great masses of the people into be vegitarian and thinking it is virtuous to let the lords/upper classes/upper castes eat all the best stuff.

the rise of veganism is a religion where there is ritual without belief. the need for orchastrated hierarchical structures has been transfusioned to a post modernist metaphysical false eventuality. I want nothing to do with that so I keep enjoying a great stake

I am not delusional! Now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna go dance with the purple wombat who's playing show-tunes in my coffee cup!
