I know this will trigger Aeson but my best friend growing up is still my best friend today and he is full blooded Phillipino. His parents were from the PI and they moved to America in the early 1970's because his father agreed to fight in Vietnam. He joined the Navy and eventually retired as a master chief before working at the NASCO shipyard as a master electrician building ships. When I speak to Darius, which is often, he says "**** the PI, the US is ten times better, and a regular person gets a far better shake.

Mind you he had some problems with drug dealing in his younger years. He still got out of jail on parole, did well enough that he got out of the system, and then joined a union and now makes a good wage despite only having a GED.

His father was something of a reverse PI Nationalist. He would say the US had bought the PI from Spain and that the PI should just be a US state.

Of course he is right, if it remained part of the US and became a state the funding levels would have been far higher so quality of life and income probably would have remained higher.

So you are saying Aeson should give up his potato farm in the Phillipines and move to America and get a real job?

His grandfather fought with the Americans against the Japanese invasion and kept up a guerilla war after that. They really believed in the US.

How much more Jolybee chicken could you buy every month? … and is it just in Canadian thing, or do you put gravy on everything you eat?
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

The US has a lot more opportunities for people to earn money, so anyone who can’t earn money in PH has a better chance in the US. However, in the PH you can have a much better lifestyle than in the US at most income levels.

I earn money in the US and spend it in PH, which is the best of both worlds.

As for random stories, I have 8k subs on YouTube and most of them are sick of the rat race. I know hundreds personally who work in the US or other developed nations, almost all of them dream of retiring to the Philippines. Most go overseas to selflessly provide for their families, often at great risk to their personal safety and freedom.

Apolyton doesn’t cost me anything as I have it hosted on spare room on one of my VPS. It earns a few bucks a month so is positive in fact.

Mainly I would rather ignore as much of the ****storm going on in the world as I can and focus on the wonderful life I have here. Apolyton is the only obligation I have to be in touch with the real world, so to speak. I’d rather be free to ignore it.

As an alternative to change of ownership I could abdicate all content/rules responsibilities over to someone.

I honestly would do it, and I actually have a vision to make this place better, but I would probably make a bad representative unless I wanted to turn this into a den of iniquity: "Apolyton? You mean the gaming site run by that devil-worshiper?"

The advertisers would run for the hills.

It surely would give Apolyton an unique flair ... I guess there are no other gaming sites run by a devil worshipper

If I did do it I would need a "grace period" of a few weeks/months where Aeson shows me the ropes and teaches me the basics of running a website, behind the scenes. Once I get that I will start making my changes, in a gradual and respectful manner. Possibly not unless I get permission from the community as well. I have the time and I love Apolyton. I refuse to get "thrown in the fire" however.

Pipe dreams at this point. Well 'shot-glass dreams' in my case.

Aeson it is PI not PH. The term originated with the USPS where PI (Philippine Islands) was the two letter postal designation for the Philippines much like CA is California, NY is New York, and IL is Illinois.
