With evidence becoming undeniable the Russia government has had to stop lying and admit, yeah, dozens of its guys did get killed trying to attack a US base. It sounds like this guy has become Putin's special projects guy. It is worrying that Putin thinks he can attack western targets with impunity and just claim "it wasn't me" after the fact. Now, having his fake "not Russian" forces get curb stomped with 200-300 dead (some where between 3/5ths and 80%) might cause him to rethink but I doubt it just because dictators rarely care about common soldiers getting killed.
That said, It is encouraging Putin feels the need to lie and try to hide the numbers of combat dead. Yeah, I don't think he cares about what other countries think since he can deny, but is concerned about how it appears at home. The internet makes thinks a bit more difficult while it makes some easier.It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit.
