  • Die Hard: Great Christmas Movie or Greatest Christmas Movie?

Why 'Die Hard' is the perfect Christmas movie: http://ew.com/article/2015/12/24/die...ristmas-movie/

Any other option feels like heresy.

PS: The new format seems weird.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

The normal debate is whether it's a Christmas movie or not. So while not the greatest, I've always said it was a Christmas movie. It happens at a Christmas party. enough said.

It actually came up at our celebration last night.

Trading Places is the greatest Christmas movie. Die Hard is second. Home Alone is third.

        That's not a debate.

Yes, I like Trading Places too. Particularly the point it makes about most people having the necessary intelligence to be a successful financier/trader, but how the lucrativeness of it leads to the privileged protecting the opportunities in that field for them and theirs.

I don't blame people for aspiring to that world, hell, if I had my time over I might well do the same, but I find it offensive that a person's worth, in terms of remuneration, is measured by how close they are to the money and the quantity they deal in rather than the relatively scarcity of the skills they bring to the table.
