Lots of people went to Catholic school that aren't Catholics. Just to stay out of crappy public schools or it was the only real choice.
And a lot of them basically ignored the religious classes. I certainly did after the first couple of grades.

Stop frothing about Obama; you make it sound like he spent his entire grade school years overseas. If you would do the slightest factual research, you would know that any claims he was taught to kill Jews and was somehow brainwashed Muslim as a child, have been thoroughly debunked. He went to a regular public school in a Muslim country for about 5-6 years. He also attended a Catholic school for part of their time there. His mother wasn't religious; she just remarried an Indo businessman. His dad was a non-practicing Muslim, born in Kenya and met Obama's mom when they both attended Univ Hawaii. They divorced and dad left when Obama was 2. His Indo school was not a madrassa; they had a few hours a week of religion classes. He was sent back to the US to live with his grandparents when he was 10.

2. Christians usually go to sunday school (or equivalents) where they learn about the bible, which says that they should kill infidels (deuteronomy 13 and 17, for example)

JR, as I've said before, and you failed to understand, public school in a Muslim country isn't really secular. You don't understand Islam at all, and the fact that you can't understand this demonstrates that you aren't likely to ever understand it. The question is did they make students learn the Koran or not, not how many religious classes they had.

If Obama admires his father so much for being an atheist then why does he love Islam (Shiite) so much? Either his father is a muslim, he is, or both.
