I mean those on da computah - do you still play them?

Overall I get only maybe 3 or so per year don't have time for much more anyway.

However I mostly do a bit of gaming in the cold fall/winter season, so right now.

My last new game was XCOM 2.

What do you play these days (looking for some ideas what to get during the current steam sale).

I thought at first I get XCOM 2 The Chosen, but I'm kinda fed up with XCOM's pod-activation thing, and while I hear The Chosen is great I don't like they moved awy from the typical squad type thing to get evar more "special" things in (whether it's enemies, equipment or whatnot).

Occasionally Space 4X like Stellaris, GalCiv III or Endless Space 2.

Occasionally War Thunder (Rather realistic WW2 (+after WW2) Tank Game ... and actually Free 2 Play)
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "He has fallen in battle and I must take him to the Einherjar in Valhalla"

Yeah, GalCiv III I got last year, but while I like it I think it's even more time-consuming Never tried the Crusade XP tho

Heart of Iron 4 is great for multiplayer.

The Crusader DLC changes the game a lot ... you won't recognize GalCiv III anymore

Regarding time requirement ... War Thunder definitely is the game (of those I mentioned) that needs the least time (~15 minutes in a tank battle, ~20-25 mins in a plane battle)
But of course, you need to have an interest in WW2-Tank or Plane MMO-Games (if yes, then it is more realistic than World of Tanks, even more so if you play in Realistic or Simulator-Mode)
(And you will also start small (with pre WW2 (or early WW2) tanks, depending on the nations) and will have to slowly work your way up through a tech tree in order to get later tanks (like the Tiger I / II or T-34 ...))

Am I the only one who likes Paradox games here?

There are far too many Warhammer 40K games out there at the moment, most of them forgettable, but even through that fog of bore I’m still a little interested in the upcoming Gladius – Relics of War, the franchise’s first attempt at a 4X game.

Not necessarily ... I like Crusader Kings 2 ... and I also played HoI III (but don't have HoI IV).
I also like Cities: Skylines (which isn't directly from Paradox however, just distributed by them)

i basically split my time between civ 6 and Diablo 3 these days. I've been contemplating returning to Path of Exile as Diablo 3 hasn't been scratching the ARPG itch as well as it used to.
I wasn't born with enough middle fingers.

I bought Crusader Kings II plus a couple DLCs finally. Not everything, as some seem not to be worth it (purely music/soundtrack stuff for example). For the same reason I decided against the whole collection.

I'm also not sure which of the "real" gameplay xpansions I'd need for best experience, so I went with the base game and lotsa gfx additions (units, portraits etc.) for now...

So I'm in th Paradox camp again.

Didn't dl yet, probably at the weekend...

I still play Master of Orion 3. I have only beaten it one time on easy level in the 12 years I have been playing it. I think I am doing good with my fleet of 2000 ships or so until 3 AI enemies with a combined total of 9000 ships end up on my borders with moar advanced tech than me.

I play on normal level now. What can I say, AAHZ loves lost causes.

I hope you have all patches for it.
I remember that the fleets in MoO 3 had some problems with their Point Defense weapons, before the final patch

I use the Good Old Games version, which not only has the latest patches, is designed for Windows 10.

also I do not use Point Defense weapons or ship types in my fleets... range is too short and standard size weapons are effective enough as all my ships are equipped with them, not just the escorts. I have adapted my style over 12 years of getting my ass kicked. I could explain moar, but I am guessing you don't even like or play the game so I would be wasting my time.
