  • The Nutella apocalypse

It's happening It was outrageously sweet before, but now it's just so sweeet that you have to see a dentist just after reading the ingredients only. FACT. Probably some conspiracy against the children or somesuch.

It really was a minor tweak to the formula by Ferrara.

The recipe tweaks had been spotted by the eagle-eyed German consumer group Hamburg Consumer Protection Centre and revealed on its Facebook page. It claimed the new recipe has increased the content of powdered skimmed milk from 7.5% to 8.7%, and sugar from 55.9% to 56.3%
And it's notable that the change was discovered by a watchdog group, not by someone noticing a change in the taste.

I've never tried it either and have no desire to.

It's actually pretty awesome stuff. We always have Nutella in the house.

I have tried it, it is tasty but too runny to be really good as a spread AND WILL THAT CARDINAL EVER STOP TAPPING ON MY WINDOW???

              *ahem*

Anywho, it doesn't really work on the multigrain bread I have in the house, so what would you recommend?
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I'm not the cook in my family, but we use it as a filling in dessert crepes.
Substitute for chocolate sauce in various recipes.

It was too sweet for me to begin with.

                      I would recommend cashew butter.
