Rant (albeit short one):
So I was "removed" as the person in charge of something of high importance for security project. Not security per se, but important otherwise. I kept saying we are breaking the law, and we will be heavily sanctioned. We will not handle it with risk mitigation and explanations and re-interpretation from the legal team. We know exactly what to do, but we need to invest in it.
So, after 5 months of frustration, they finally told me another person will replace me, and if I could still help as an expert.
Sure. At least I don't have to rant about our total negligence for the law. I started to question the ethics of the project management, and emailed you are now all aware of the law, and we basically none of us can say we did not know better. I feel like I did my job
Now I can focus on other matters. Less work, same pay, and never compromised my own ethics. It's still BS but what can you expect. Directors like to hear things that are more pleasing I guess, and not face the facts. And I was not this blunt, of course. But slightly irritated. I did say this is against my personal code of ethics to review this solution, and will not accept it. So, I was let go. Not from my job, but from the project. I guess it will be a success, now. I will watch it fail and have all the "I told you so" privileges. I will not check my privilege on that.
