It seems one can sum up the explanation of the researchers as:
A certain type of people (lets call hem Type A people) is get caught in milllenia old thinking patterns (from the time of hunters and gatherrs), in a time where strength still determined your social ranking (i.e. a time before modern society)
These Type A people therefore also get caught in thinking that strength == success in society and visit the gymn more often than people who are not Type A people. (an often also disregard those strategies that in nowadays society actually may make you rraise in the social ladder ... things like gaining higher education for example)
This thinking pattern in Type A people seems to also be connected to a protectionism of their own ossession (and a fear that "weaker people" are out to get them, which is why these peopl also subscribe to social conservationism (with a society where yu have a distinct difference between poor and rich people and only little movement between these social strata).
Funny enough this belief even is prevalent, if the Type A person is on a lower rung of the social ladder ... obviously they still have people they look upon (and from which they fear that a more social state may enable those people to steal their possessions)
In contrast this could mean that those physically weak people (who subscribe to socialism) (lets call them Type B people) are those who have more grown away from their stone age minds and have arrived at the society of the 21st centuryTamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death.
