n the past (at least in the german language space) we had rather the opposite problem with facebook ... i.e. facebook being too lenient on hate speech ... or rather, facebook showing no reactions at all to it, only to boobs.

To expose these double standards, a potographer, some years ago had an action under the tag #nippelstatthetze (boobs instead of agitation) :
He shared 2 versions of a photo with people and those posted them on facebook.

In the first version you had a woman with bare breasts and below her soomeone sitting with a racist sign (Kauft nicht bei Kanaken (Don't buy at [derogatory term for southern people]s shops) ... in the second one you had the womans beasts covered (but the sign with the text still visible)

As expected facebook gnerally banned the first version of the picture, whereas the second version (without the bare breasts visible) wasn't banned

I think it becomes obvious that the way to fight hate speech in facebook is to constantly pin naked boobs next to it.
This is beneficial on multiple levels.

I don't have any problem with facebook banning that or even other governments requiring that facebook do so. But some of the censorship is ridiculous. For example, in France recently, a mayor was fined for saying that if you have a majority of muslims in your town, that's not multiculturalism. He actually was criticizing liberal immigration policy, not Muslims, but when you institute speech regulation there is going to be abuse.

Also, some say that a Muslim can call for genocide against Jewish people, but I'm not sure about that.

yeah it is a delicate subject.

I think that violent/abusing speech is not harmless because it can lead to physical violence.

but there is a thin line to walk between protecting dignity (a basic human right) and treading on the liberty to express your opinions freely


for example here there was a case of a famour writer that said that a hardocre muslim is thte one that chops off your head and the moderate is the one that hold your head for the hardcore to cut it.
she also claimed that marco polo said that. he didn't

she got sued by the head of a human rights watch.
theoretically she could have a penalty slapped on her


amusingly enough a big deal of the case will be in proving if marco polo actually said that or not. (he didn't say they experts)

She is a very talented and gifted writer but lately she gone off the deep end and hates every one lefty/socialist/muslim and wrote a whole hate speech (according to me) book about the "dizzyness of the west" and how multiculturalism doesn't work for muslims (which is false IMO)

I am against her going to court though. I just feel pity that such a talented writer has such deep sitted issues
