For simplicities sake I asssumed 48 weeks of Trump in Power this year, with one visit to Mar-a-Lago every second week (=24 trips to Mar-a-Lago)
and also 48 weeks of Melania+Barrons stay in NYC = 336 days.
Cost for one Trip to Mar-a-Lago = 3 Million
Cost for the Security of Barron and Melania in NYC = 146.000 / day
-> ~121 Million $ for 2017

If we assume this to continue the full 4 years of Trumps presidency (i.e. assume he doesn't get impeached or is "persuaded" to voluntarily resign) that's more than half a billion dollars.
(a certain percentage of which wanders into the Trump families own coffers, considering the state pays rent for a whole story in Trump tower ... and may also house/feed Trumps staff by using he facilities at Mar-a-Lago)

The USA must be truely rich, to afford extravaganzas of their presidents family like this. Why again were welfare programs cut in Trumps proposed budget?

O.K., I say "No" to the fake news, that the Trips to Mar-a-Lago cost less than displayed in my sources and I also say "No" to the fake news that protecting Barron and Melania costs less than mentioned in the article

Not even Trump himself disputes his trips to Mar-a-Lago ... and also not the fact that Melania and Barron stay at home in NYC and that the Secret Service has to rent a whole story in Trump Tower in order to proteect Barron and Melania. I doubt that Trump gae away the story in Trump Tower to the Secret Service for free (despite the fact that it would be the only morally acceptable way) and I also doubt that the state doesn't have to pay a penny for board and lodging of Trumps staff at Mar-a-Lago. Not to forget the costs for using Airforce One in order to travel to Mar-a-Lago
