      Aside from putting Gerrymandering there to an end in California, it seems like he was active in envionmental politics and renewable energies.
      Also he pursued rather moderate politics (for a republican) and even made a democrat his chief of staff

      So, yes ... I guess so ... as negative things I only have read that he gave govermental contracts to the companies of friends (well, guess that is something that Trump and also many Democrats would do as well ... and that he was Pro Death Penalty (and generally pursued more of a hard hand politics towards criminals)
