Pizzagate took a turn for the bizarre on Sunday, as a man with a rifle walked into Comet Ping Pong, the DC-based pizza parlor that Internet conspiracy theorists say is at the center of an international child sex ring run by prominent Democrats.
Washington, D.C., police arrested a man Sunday afternoon, after restaurant employees saw a man, described as being in his early 20s and carrying an “assault rifle,” work his way through the dining room and then attempt to enter the staff work area at the back of the building.
Restaurant workers acted quickly, getting staff and patrons—including a number of children—to safety and dialing 911. Authorities were quick to respond. They subdued and arrested the man and secured the restaurant. No shots were fired and no one was injured.
In any other year, a story like “Pizzagate” would get you laughed out of the room. The conspiracy theory claiming that Hillary Clinton was part of an underground child-sex trafficking ring run out of a pizza shop, is bizarre and disturbing from start to finish. But in 2016 – a year where nothing seems to make sense anymore – a story like that can be cited as a motive for a crime.
On Sunday, a gunman carrying an assault rifle entered a pizza shop in Washington DC, Comet Ping Pong. He reportedly wanted to “self-investigate” the spurious Clinton report. Thankfully no-one was injured or killed. Make no mistake: this grim story is a prime example of the free rein we’ve given to the worst of ourselves this year. It also shows how eager political operatives are to feed our basest instincts.
also some time ago a different kind of pizzagate took place in the UK.

I for my part definitely would prefer to live in the USA (even under Trump) than in Iran.
Especially if I were a woman.
While I have to admit that women seem to be a little bit more free in Iran than in certain other islamist states (although AFAIK this also has taken a step back with the durrent PM), it is still hilarious for what things you can get arrested or else punished in Iran.
For example:
Not wearing Headscarves on Instagram Photos:
With summer approaching, president has provoked a row with senior clerics after criticising police for enforcing a strict interpretation of dress codes
Posting jokes or photos of your wedding on Facebook:
An IRGC cyberspace specialist, Mostafa Alizadeh, announced in a statement on Iranian state television on February 1, that 12 Iranian Facebook users have been arrested on charges of "spreading corruption, and [carrying out a] mission to change family lifestyles." He added that 24 other citizens were summoned to answer questions about their Facebook activities.
Sometimes even with death penalty, if the postings are considered as "insulting the prophet":
Six Iranians arrested for filming a video tribute to Pharrell Williams' song Happy are sentenced to 91 lashes and jail terms, their lawyer says.
(Being happy obviously is forbidden for iranians)
